http://www.theblackdiamondeffect.com/plan9-01a.mov

much like star wars and star trek...
I've decided to have fun in my downtime...
so here it is...

I've tried to update the FX and keep the 3D cheap looking enuff to feel like it belongs...

AND,
edit out the stuff that puts me to sleep the moment it comes onto the screen...

I'll be updating with additional footage in the coming weeks until the entire film has been done.

What do you'all think?

Ah, the standard for chintzy, low-budget cinema. Too bad it's not in the public domain.

It was taken down some time ago. Ed Wood's family realized the cult popularity of his work and began enforcing the copyrights.

Just a thought, what do people suppose Wood's work would be like if he had a disposable budget available? Scary idea.

Scary indeed. Actually, I suspect he could have been fairly good. He would have always been an envelope-pusher, but with a budget, he could have hired actual professionals - not just actors but crew.

Besides, one of the chintziest aspects of his work was his heavy reliance on stock footage. That dragged him down a lot.

I dunno. It seems wrong to mess with a classic. Even weirder, to risk harm to it by improving it, by lessening its classic badness. :)

I'll have to have a look at what you've done. It sounds like an interesting task, if a delicate one.
